Very disappointing visit today. Went for a Mother’s Day Lunch, pre booked for 1pm with my sister and her Mother-in-Law. We were sat straight away even though we arrived ten minutes early and were given the very extensive menu and three entries for a Mother’s Day draw.. we had a lovely waiter, didn’t get his name though. We ordered a soup, a vol au vent and a chowder starter, which was lovely, then we ordered a Roast Beef Dinner, a Salmon Dish and a supreme of Chicken. The food arrived fairly quickly, the order for the salmon was requested without mash but an extra portion of vegetables instead, but when it arrived, it was served on a bed of mash and was over cooked and dry, with no extra vegetables. In fact we only had one small dish of vegetables for all three of us. The Beef was a thick slice of fat with a bit of meat on either side of it and pretty bland but edible once the fat was cut away.. pretty poor serving, the Supreme of chicken which should have had some creamy leek sauce was served with a sauce that had a horrible taste, something like cardamon, which I dislike, so I had to scrape all the sauce and skin off to be left with a plain breast of chicken and a few vegetables, as the sauce was covering the mash.. I ate what I could. As did the others.. it was palatable but not great for a celebration lunch and not cheap.. we opted for desserts to see if we could end on a better note, the two ton mess were nice and we asked for the meringue with fresh fruit and sorbet without the meringue, which arrived with three blueberries and three small pieces of strawberries as a garnish.. in a huge plate .. at this point we just laughed at it and asked if we could get a few more berries, which the waiter very kindly got. When we went up to the counter to pay, and asked if it was alright, we explained what had happened and that it was less than acceptable for three three mains to be not great. The response we got was I’m sorry I’ll let the chef know when he’s not busy! After paying over €100 for the lunch.. and not an offer of a discount or even a complimentary tea or coffee… we left extremely disappointed in the lack of decent customer service., and some very poor food..Other places we could have gone to even offered Mother’s, a gift voucher toward an event at the venue or a free glass of Prosecco as a gesture.. the only gesture for Mother’s Day here was an entry into a draw for a hotel gift voucher to be drawn on Monday… a good way to capture your data but nothing special to draw guests in on a special day.. perhaps you could have gone a little further Mr Devaney! Not sure we’ll be voting for you in the hotel awards this time..

Returned to this little gem of a hotel for a short stay and once again we enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel itself was recently refurbished to a lovely standard, the room was clean, lovely and warm and a great view once again of the beach from our bedroom. The staff were excellent all round from Leah and Emily in reception to Sinead in the lovely restaurant,to Antony in the bar,to Ciara in the breakfast room who immediately recognised us from a previous visit. The breakfast was lovely each morning and the restaurant food again was beautiful and well presented in the evening time. We were sad to learn that Arthur had left as he was a gentleman and so professional in his dealings with us previously. The only small issue we had was the hotels WiFi but we put it down to the recent storms in the area . Overall another enjoyable stay and have no problems in recommending this lovely hotel and staff to anyone. Will be back soon.

We spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. We were right on the beach. Great to watch the.clouds and rain sweep over the area when it was rainy and windy. But the best thing was the absolutely fabulous beach and coastal.walks in the area.....refreshing and exhilariting. The staff..on our hotel floor, in restaurant and breakfast room, were all friendly and fabulous. We are going again in May.

We had a lovely stay at the Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone. The hotel is right at the beach and has some gorgeous views. It's in the middle of the town and easily accessible. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was amazing. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the hotel.

We arrived expecting to see a beautiful hotel on the beach....The Hotel is in the middle of Enniscrone town center, we pulled in outside and went in to ask about parking. This was our first encounter with the staff. The staff advised us to stay parked outside in front of the abandoned run down building next door to the hotel as the underground carpark would be very busy with people using the restaurant. We got our bags and brought them up the hill and into the hotel. We entered our family room and found a bowel movement sitting in an unflushed toilet! There was no Internet in this room (our son has autism and needs access to his gadgets), the tv kept glitching too. I told the staff in reception about the toilet , she had no reaction and said she would send housekeeping and a maintenance person for tv. House keeping never arrived and another staff member came to see tv, she didn't seem to know anything and just checked the wires were connected. After a lot of hassle, waiting and my son needing the toilet, I cleaned it myself! I mean clean as it was all stuck to the side it needed more than a flush! I went to reception a few times and she said she was waiting for the deputy manager to come check the tv and Internet connection but he was busy in the restaurant, after again waiting I decided to m go to the restaurant. I found the deputy manager who said he was very busy as the manager was on maternity leave and he probably wouldn't get up to our room for about an hour and that when he did he probablywould know how to fix it..we had been waiting about an hour at this point already. I requested to move room. After a couple of moves we finally got a room that we could have Internet but the tv was not a smart rv and it just glitched most of the time but at least my son could use his devices as the room had Internet access. Just to mention we go to hotels to use the facilities, we mostly stay in our room because this is what works for our son and he loves to be away in a hotel room. It was late by the time we finally got to relax the first evening. First thing in the morning we went for breakfast, it was just okay. We then decided to go to the beach as that was part of the reason we booked this hotel. We discovered the hotel is certainly not on the beach and that it is not easy to access the beach. It was one of of parties 60th birthday so we wanted them to wake up and enjoy the beautiful beach view on their special day. So after we walked through the underground car park and the playground and then climbed up the sandy hill with no rails and then made our way down the other side we finally saw the beach! With a knee Injury this was a one time trip to the beach! We went back to our room and made the most of our 2 nights stay. If you like luxury , cleanliness, up to date smart tvs and internet that works, good quality food and helpful cheerful staff then please do not visit this hotel. I have to give a shout out to Karl who was the only sta

We arrived about an hour before check in, and the girl at front desk was happy to keep our bags safe while we went for lunch. My room had a lovely sea view, was warm and welcoming. However there was an issue with the lock on the door which resulted in my room not being locked when I left it. This was resolved quickly but I feel this should have been identified and solved before guest arrival. Aside from that, I cannot fault the hotel. The spa was wonderful. Breakfast great. And wonderful staff. Definitely will be back.

Ocean Sands really is a beautiful hotel and we were very lucky as a group of 6 girls to spend 2 nights there this weekend. Check in was lovely very friendly girl - assigned a room on second floor with wonderful sea view. Lovely large room, bottled water, tea/coffee making facilities - good large bathroom but once again very poor bath towels assigned to the room. However, i asked the lovely lady that was servicing the rooms if i could have a bath towel and she obliged by giving me 2 proper bath towels, I have no idea why they were not there to start. We enjoyed some dinner drinks in the bar on both evenings. Service very slow on evening 2 had to ask someone is there anyone serving behind the bar. One of the gentlemen serving in the bar was extremely uninterested in serving us, definitely not service with a smile, his manner is extremely poor, I got the impression he is a senior bar member of staff. He actually gave us a glare when we arrived to the bar on the second evening. However, the barmen who came on duty later in the night who i believe might be the night porter was an absolute joy to get a drink from. Able to have a bit of banter with the customers and not treat them like they are a nuisance. Breakfast excellent both morning. We will return, Enniscrone is a fantastic place for a chilled out weekend and the beach is absolutely stunning. We were very blessed with the weather.

We booked dinner for 19.30 a week in advance as it was a BH weekend arrived about 3 mins late but were informed by front of house to say he’d let our table go a few mins earlier and was adamant that we had booked table for 7pm not 7.30 which is incorrect, I asked why didn’t we get a call as we had to leave a mobile number when booking he said didn’t have a number!! Very poor attitude but found a table in an run off area and waited for service for ages didn’t get food for an hour a complete disaster food ok but service terrible no discount from total bill of 190€ not impressed!! Will be taking our business elsewhere as we visit Enniscrone regularly!

Great place to stay, very cosy hotel with all mod cons including Nespresso machine in the room.. Very comfy beds and lovely toiletries. Great to hear the ocean going as you go to sleep.. Food was really tasty and enjoyable, priced very reasonably. Staff were lovely, one girl had just started the weekend and she was lovely to chat with, the night porter Tom was a really lovely man, full of useful information about places to go and see. Ciara (receptionist) was so welcoming and friendly, definitely a great asset to the hotel.. she even came to say goodbye after her shift. We will definitely be back..
